AuSome Pals is more than a book brand—it’s a place to learn, love, and grow. The stories, sensory-friendly tools, and resources are designed to help all children practice being kind friends, notice when someone needs extra support, and celebrate differences instead of fearing them. At the heart of AuSome Pals is Kali—bright, curious, confident, and full of sparkle. She loves to dance, travel, and go on adventures, and as an autistic child, she experiences the world in her own beautiful way. Like many children on the spectrum, Kali faces challenges in school, in social settings, and in expressing her thoughts and feelings, and AuSome Pals gently helps families and children better understand and navigate those moments together.

AuSome Pals is deeply committed to representation, inclusion, and advocacy. Dr. Shirley and her daughter Kali use their real-life autism journey to inspire stories that reflect the beauty and complexity of neurodivergent children and the families who love them. Through their books, growing community, and the AuSome Network Directory, AuSome Pals is intentional about creating spaces where families feel welcomed, not judged, and where every child’s sparkle matters. Their hope is that every parent, educator, and child who visits AuSome Pals is reminded of two things: you are not alone, and you belong here.
